OVERVIEW

Michel Issa Foundation for Local Development (MIF) is a  a non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing sustainable local development in Lebanon. Established on January 14, 2012 under Registration Notice 71, MIF achieves its objectives by implementing local development projects in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, capitalizing on the support of civil society and working alongside local administrations and national authorities

Mission

To create a sustainable ecosystem for local development by empowering local communities through socio-economic, educational and environmental projects, and through cross-disciplinary initiatives, that would achieve sustainable, local and equitable growth.

To nurture prosperous local communities through sustainable development initiatives, grounded in our unwavering belief in the potential of individuals, the transformative power of collaboration, and the preservation of local identity.

Our Founders

Driven by the successful legacy of his father, Michel Issa - a prominent figure in Lebanon’s energy sector who hailed from the small town of Amchit - Dr. Toni Issa founded the Michel Issa Foundation for in 2012 to promote local development. Together with a group of dedicated individuals, Dr. Toni recognized the urgent need for an initiative to empower local communities and address pressing local challenges.
