Our Objectives

Promoting sustainable local development

We aim to advance sustainable local development as a catalyst for growth of local communities and equitable prosperity of individuals and groups, by achieving measurable targets for growth such as income increase, job creations, etc. Projects endorsing green economy will be prioritized, such as green financing, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, etc.

Strengthening the Capacity of Local Communities.

We strive to build the capacity of communities in multiple regions in Lebanon, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups, namely women and youth. We achieve this through innovative, progressive and developmental projects, and through our support to local administration and civil society, contributing to a diverse, equitable and inclusive local development.

Inspiring Community Engagement

We incite community engagement and cultivate a sense of local belonging through sustainable local projects, designed to create a lasting impact. Such initiatives intend to motivate citizens to stay in their villages and town and actively participate in the local development process.

Unlocking Local Potential

We work towards unlocking local potential by highlighting the capabilities, characteristics and cognitive abilities that distinguish local communities, and by investing them directly in sustainable local development projects. Believing in community-led development, MIF leverages the innate strength of each community to drive growth from within.

Advancing Administrative Decentralization

We support the implementation of administrative decentralization as a pillar to achieve local and balanced development across regions. To do so, we collaborate closely with relevant local authorities to adopt this concept, leading to a balanced growth, self-sufficiency, diversity, equity, and inclusivity.

Supporting Potential Collaborations Across Regions

We encourage collaborations between regions by implementing joint activities and projects that prioritize knowledge exchange, experience sharing and capacity building, in partnership with relevant associations, local authorities and the private sector.

We form partnerships with global expert in the field of sustainable local development, to foster integration and exchange. MIF seeks to adopt global best practices and innovative solution, while ensuring that projects are tailored and adapted to local need of targeted areas.
