In 2017, MIF embarked on a promising project by establishing the first Business and Innovation Center in Amchit and the surrounding region. This landmark project was realized in collaboration with Berytech, a leading incubator and accelerator based in Beirut, and affiliated with Université Saint Joseph, one of Lebanon’s esteemed universities.
The project encompasses the development of a 5,000 square meter facility designed to serve as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The center features modern workspaces, multi-purpose rooms, and theaters tailored for business, cultural, and artistic activities. This diverse infrastructure aims to support a wide range of functions and events, fostering a vibrant and dynamic environment.
With the absence of such facilities outside of Beirut until the north of Lebanon, this center is strategically positioned to cater to the needs of the Byblos, Kesserwan-Ftouh, Batroun, and Koura regions, with the additional goal of attracting participants from Tripoli, Zgharta, Bsharri, and other northern regions. By serving a broad geographic area, the initiative aims to become a regional catalyst for economic development and innovation.
MIF’s primary objective is to address local development demands by promoting innovation entrepreneurship. As a result, the center is designed to provide resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and SMEs, increasing job creation and stimulating economic growth throughout the region. By creating a vibrant and supportive ecosystem for business and innovation, the center seeks to attract top talent, university students, and emerging entrepreneurs. This approach aims to curb the migration of young professionals to Beirut, encouraging them to remain in the region and contribute to its economic and entrepreneurial landscape.
N.B: MIF initiated this project in 2017, but due to the crisis, construction works are paused. We anticipate resuming work in the near future, with the goal of completing the center by 2026.
