Within the scope of the “EcoClub by LRI and MIF” project, MIF is collaborating with the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) to establish 7 EcoClubs across 7 different schools in Lebanon. These clubs aim to nurture a new generation of environmentally conscious youth by promoting school-based environmental initiatives. Additionally, the project will host a one-day conference and a one-week summer camp, where students from all participating schools will come together to share their experiences, lessons, and ideas learned throughout the project.
MIF is committed to advancing both education and environmental protection, and this project represents a unique opportunity to fulfill these dual objectives. It will serve as a catalyst for promoting environmental sustainability within schools, enabling students to better understand the most urgent ecological challenges facing Lebanon and empowering them to become active change-makers within their communities.
Driven by the critical need to educate and empower young people about the importance of environmental preservation, conservation, and restoration, this initiative provides a valuable platform for instilling these core values. By engaging students directly in environmental action, the project encourages them to actively participate in their communities while equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for contributing to Lebanon’s long-term ecological well-being.
