Launching Event of the “EcoClubs by LRI and MIF” Project

February 2025 - On Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, MIF, launched the "EcoClubs by LRI and MIF" project, in collaboration with the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI). This initiative involves the creation of eco-clubs in 7 schools across Lebanon, kicking off a youth-led movement focused on environmental sustainability. The event was attended by MIF and LRI teams, alongside representatives from the 7 participating schools. It provided an opportunity for MIF to highlight on its dedication to local development through socio-economic, educational, and environmental projects, emphasizing how this project aligns with its core pillars of education and environmental sustainability. By the same token, LRI representatives outlined the project's goal of providing environmental education to young people. The enthusiasm from the schools was palpable, with school principals eager for their students to take on their roles as change-makers. Through school-based projects, a one-day sustainability conference, and a one-week summer camp, the initiative will empower students to lead efforts that protect Lebanon’s natural resources and promote sustainable practices.
