Visit to one of the MIF-Sponsored Street Festival

June 2024 – In a demonstration of its commitment to supporting local economies, MIF recently visited one of its sponsored street festivals in Amchit, witnessing firsthand the profound impact these events have on Lebanon’s communities. Through its ongoing support of street festivals across the country, MIF has been helping local producers expand their market reach, promote internal tourism, and engage local suppliers, significantly contributing to Lebanon’s socio-economic development. During the visit to the Amchit street festival, the team witnessed the considerable number of local vendors who have been provided with a vital platform to showcase their products and gain exposure, with many MSMEs reporting a substantial boost in sales thanks to the increased visibility and foot traffic. Additionally, these festivals have been key to promoting internal tourism, attracting visitors from across Lebanon and generating a ripple effect in local economies; they have also been a catalyst for community engagement, creating spaces for social interaction and fostering a sense of pride among local residents. This project is a testament to how local development can thrive when small businesses are given the opportunity to grow, and when communities are united around a shared sense of purpose and pride.
